At Lakes High School, he was a two-time All-American offensive lineman. He played tackle in college football for USC, with whom he was a two-time All-American. Banner was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the fourth round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and made his NFL debut with the Cleveland Browns the same year.
