Prince Karl Michael Joseph of Liechtenstein was the second son of Emanuel, Prince of Liechtenstein (1700–1771) and Maria Anna Antonia, Countess of Dietrichstein-Weichselstädt, Baroness of Hollenburg and Finkenstein, and younger brother of Franz Joseph I, Prince of Liechtenstein.
