In July 2021, the American model and actress Carré Otis filed a complaint against Gerald Marie for allegedly raping her when she was 17 years old. In August 2021, Otis filed a lawsuit alleging that Gérald Marie repeatedly raped her at his Paris apartment when she was just 17 years old. His ex-wife, Canadian fashion model, Linda Evangelista said she knew nothing about the reported attempted rapes during her relationship with Marie, but believes the women who have come forward are telling the truth and praises their courage.
