He was the third generation of his family to be chairman of the Muthoot Group, and the former Lay Trustee of the Indian Orthodox Church. He was also a member of the National Executive Committee of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) and the Chairman of the FICCI Kerala State Council.
