Paul Weston was an American pianist, arranger, composer, and conductor who worked in music and television from the 1930s to the 1970s, pioneering mood music and becoming known as "the Father of Mood Music". His compositions include popular music songs such as "I Should Care", "Day by Day", and "Shrimp Boats". He also wrote classical pieces, including "Crescent City Suite" and religious music, authoring several hymns and masses.

Ludwig von Bogdandy was a German metallurgist and industrial executive. He was a leading researcher on iron and steel production, and served as CEO of Voestalpine, an international steel based technology and capital goods group based in Linz. He also served as the honorary Hungarian Consul-General in Linz.

Jan Gösta Waldenström was a Swedish doctor of internal medicine, who first described the disease which bears his name, Waldenström's macroglobulinemia.
