Shavkat Mirziyoyev es un político uzbeko, actual presidente de su país, ejerciendo interinamente el cargo desde la muerte de Islam Karimov y la renuncia de Nigmatilla Yuldashev el 8 de septiembre de 2016, hasta su victoria en las elecciones presidenciales del 4 de diciembre. Fue nombrado primer ministro por el presidente Karimov el 12 de diciembre de 2003 y reconocido por el parlamento uzbeko ese mismo día. Sustituyó al anterior primer ministro Utkir Sultanov. Antes de ejercer el cargo había sido el gobernador de Samarcanda.

Sergey Nikolayevich Lebedev is an Uzbekistan-born Russian political figure who has been the Executive Secretary of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) since 2007. He had previously been General of the Army in the Russian Armed Forces and Director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) from 2000 to 2007.
