Joseph Mortimer Granville
Joseph Mortimer Granville (1833–1900) fue un médico, autor, inventor y empresario inglés. A fines de la década de 1880, Granville inventó el vibrador eléctrico, un dispositivo diseñado para aliviar dolores y molestias musculares. Originalmente fue llamada "percusser" (percusionista) o también como "martillo de Granville". Vendida principalmente a médicos, empezaron a ser usada como tratamiento a la histeria dada su capacidad de llevar a la paciente al "paroxismo histérico".

Crater's disappearance fueled public disquiet about New York City corruption and was a factor in the downfall of the Tammany Hall political machine.
