Herman Allen Blumenthal was an American art director and production designer for films. He shared in two Academy Awards for Best Art Direction, for his work on Cleopatra (1963) and Hello, Dolly! (1969). He had previously been nominated for Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959).

Herman of Hauteville was the younger son of Humphrey, count of Apulia and Calabria (1051–1057), and his Lombard wife, Gaitelgrima of Salerno, also known as Altrude. His older brother Abelard was supposed to inherit their father's lands, but Robert Guiscard, their uncle, who was elected count on Humphrey's death, confiscated them.

Herman Louis Verlinde is a Dutch theoretical physicist and string theorist. He is the Class of 1909 Professor of Physics at Princeton University, where he is also the Chair of the Department of Physics. He is the identical twin brother of Erik Verlinde.
