Gherardo di Giovanni del Fora
Gherardo di Giovanni del Fora, fue un pintor renacentista italiano. Trabajó con su hermano Mónte (1448-1529). Además de por sus pinturas, es recordado por sus miniaturas, mosaicos, y joyas. Realizó numerosos encargos para miembros de la familia Médici en Florencia y también trabajó para el rey Matías Corvino en Hungría. Sus paisajes muestran la influencia de los primitivos pintores flamencos.

The herbarium that he began in 1532 is the oldest surviving example of the method invented in Italy by his contemporaries and is preserved in Rome. His illustrations of plants show plants in the foreground with landscapes and details of people and places in the background.
