He married Ingegerd Knutsdotter of Denmark, daughter of the Danish king Canute IV who was murdered in 1086. Folke and Ingrid had the sons Knut and Benedict according to Saxo. The chronicler furthermore reports that Folke was the paternal grandfather of Birger Brosa, who still was alive at the time he wrote.

Folke Sundquist was a Swedish film actor. He appeared in 21 films between 1951 and 1968. He remains perhaps best-known for his starring part in the 1951 "scandal film" One Summer of Happiness (1951), which won the Golden Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival, and his supporting role as one of the hitchhikers in Ingmar Bergman's Wild Strawberries (1957).
