Chen Da (also Chen Ta; Chinese: 陳達; pinyin: Chén Dá; Wade–Giles: Ch'en² Ta²; b. 1905 (1906?) – d. April 11, 1981) was a Taiwanese folk singer. He was part of Taiwan's folk music scene and worked as an analphabetic creator of lyrics. His spontaneous performances of traditional tunes became an object of study for many scholars focused on the music of Taiwan and brought him to the attention of writers engaged in music criticism including the novelist Wang Tuoh. According to the Journal of Music in China, Chen Da was "the only noted singer of Taiwanese folk singing." Chen Da is also referred to as a singer of "Hoklo folk songs," a synonym of "Taiwanese folk songs."

Chen Zaidao was a Chinese general in the People's Liberation Army, who commanded the Wuhan Military Region from 1954 to 1967. Chen Chien-nien is a former Taiwanese politician. Born in Taitung, Chen entered politics in 1981 as a Taitung councillor representing the Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT). He served as County Magistrate of Taitung from 1993 to 2001. A member of the Puyuma tribe, he is the only indigenous politician to have served as a county magistrate in Taiwan. In 2002, Chen quit the KMT to accept the cabinet-level Minister of Council of Aboriginal Affairs post in Chen Shui-bian's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) administration. He resigned in 2005 due to a vote-buying charge, whilst continuing to maintain his innocence. Following a failed appeal to the Supreme Court in 2012, he was sentenced to nine months in jail.
