Bartholomäus Sastrow, sometimes anglicised Bartholomew, was a German official, notary, and mayor of Stralsund. He left a culturally and historically important autobiography, written in 1595 when he was 75 years of age. There is a plaque marking the site of his birth at Lange Straße 54 in Greifswald.

Bartholomäus Bernardi (1487-1551) was the rector and a professor of physics and philosophy at the University of Wittenberg during the time of Martin Luther. He became a Protestant reformer. He was also pastor of the congregation in Kemberg, Saxony—15.2 kilometers south of Wittenberg— and the third Lutheran priest to marry.

Bartholomäus Gesius fue un teólogo, autor de himnos religiosos, compositor y teórico musical alemán. Compuso numerosos himnos, salmos, misas, canciones y motetes. Su obra teórica principal es Synopsis musicae practicae (1609-1618), la cual consiguió gran estima en su tiempo. Trabajó en la Schloss Muskau y en Frankfurt (Oder) y es conocido por sus corales de la Pasión en alemán y latín, y por la melodía y primera puesta a punto del himno de Pascua "Heut triumphieret Gottes Sohn", el cual fue usado en varias composiciones incluyendo una cantata de Dieterich Buxtehude y un preludio coral de Johann Sebastian Bach, que concluye la sección de Pascua de su colección Orgelbüchlein.
