Alfred Gomolka was a German politician and member of the European Parliament for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. He also served as the minister president of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
Alfred Shrubb
Alfred Shrubb known as Alfie Shrubb was an English middle and long-distance runner. During an amateur career lasting from 1899 to 1905 and a professional career from 1905 to 1912 he won over 1,000 races of about 1,800. At the peak of his career he was virtually unbeatable at distances up to 15 miles, often racing against relay teams so that the race would be more competitive. On 4 November 1904, at Ibrox Park, Glasgow, he broke the one hour run record as well as all amateur records from six to eleven miles, and all professional records from eight to eleven miles, running eleven miles, 1137 yards (18.742 km) in one hour. Altogether he set 28 world records.

Alfred Harmsworth was a British barrister, and the father of several of the United Kingdom's leading newspaper proprietors, five of whom were honoured with hereditary titles – two viscounts, one baron and two baronets. Another son designed the iconic bulbous Perrier mineral water bottle.

Alfred Papapreye Diete-Spiff was the first Military Governor of Rivers State, Nigeria after it was created from part of the old Eastern Region, Nigeria. He held office from May 1967 until July 1975 during the military administration of General Yakubu Gowon. He was also a member of the Supreme Military Council.
Alfred Robens, Baron Robens of Woldingham
Alfred Robens, Baron Robens of Woldingham, PC, sometimes known as Alf Robens, was an English trade unionist, Labour politician and industrialist. His political ambitions, including an aspiration to become Prime Minister, were frustrated by bad timing, but his energies were diverted into industry: he spent a decade as Chairman of the National Coal Board, and later headed a major inquiry which resulted in the Robens Report on health, safety and welfare at work. His outlook was paternalistic; in later life, he moved away from his early socialism towards the Conservative Party. His reputation remains tarnished by his failure to have foreseen and prevented the Aberfan disaster, followed by actions widely regarded as insensitive during this disaster's aftermath.
Alfred Stieglitz
Alfred Stieglitz fotógrafo estadounidense, de origen judío-alemán. Durante sus cincuenta años de carrera luchó por hacer de la fotografía una forma de arte al nivel de la pintura y la escultura. Para conseguir este objetivo empezó explorando dentro del campo de la fotografía capacidades propias de la pintura para después recurrir a elementos propiamente fotográficos. Pasó así del pictorialismo a la llamada fotografía directa. A Stieglitz también se le conoce por su matrimonio con la pintora Georgia O'Keeffe.
Alfred Redl
Alfred Redl fue un oficial del Ejército austrohúngaro. Ascendió a coronel y llegó a ocupar el cargo de jefe de Estado Mayor del VIII Cuerpo (Praga). Durante la mayor parte de su carrera sirvió como jefe de la Oficina de Evidencias, Servicio de Inteligencia Militar. Una de las figuras más preeminentes en el mundo del espionaje previo a la Primera Guerra Mundial, su paso por el servicio de contraespionaje estuvo marcado por la innovación, y promovió el uso de las tecnologías más avanzadas de su tiempo con el fin de detectar y arrestar agentes extranjeros. Pero resultó ser a su vez uno de los mayores y más importantes espías al servicio del Imperio ruso. Captado inicialmente bajo amenaza de hacer pública su condición de homosexual, los ingresos que le reportaba su traición elevaron enormemente su nivel de vida, y al parecer acabó vendiendo secretos militares a los servicios secretos franceses e italianos. Descubierto, se suicidó pegándose un tiro un año antes del estallido de la Primera Guerra Mundial.
