Táriq ibn Ziyad
Táriq, Táreq, Táric o Ṭāriq ibn Ziyād al-Layti fue un general, perteneciente a los bereberes, que dirigió la conquista musulmana de la península ibérica, según la historiografía tradicionalmente admitida, basada en crónicas árabes de los siglos X y XI. El nombre "Gibraltar" es el derivado en español del nombre en árabe Jabal Tāriq o Jab al-Tarik, que significa "montaña de Táriq", nombrada así tras su desembarco en este lugar.
Ubayd Allah ibn Ziyad
ʿUbayd Allāh ibn Ziyād was the Umayyad governor of Basra, Kufa and Khurasan during the reigns of caliphs Mu'awiya I and Yazid I, and the leading general of the Umayyad army under caliphs Marwan I and Abd al-Malik. Ubayd Allah is primarily remembered for his role in the killings of members of Ali ibn Abi Talib's family including Husayn ibn Ali, and he has become infamous in Muslim tradition.
Kumayl ibn Ziyad
Kumayl bin Ziyad an-Nakha'i was among the most loyal companions of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib. Moreover, Kumayl occupies a prominent position in Shia Islam. Converting to Islam during the time of Islamic prophet Muhammad, he rose to a position of prominence during the caliphates of Uthman and Ali. In the caliphate of Ali, Kumayl flourished and served him in the most disciplined of ways. However, he is recognized for his pious and humble nature as well as preserving Imam Ali's teachings. Kumayl is best known for the du'a (supplication) of Prophet Khidr, which is commonly known by the name du'a Kumayl.
