Jean van de Velde is a French professional golfer. He was born in Mont-de-Marsan, Landes, France. van de Velde turned professional in 1987 and his rookie season on the European Tour was 1989. His first European Tour win was the 1993 Roma Masters. He has twice finished in the top twenty of the Order of Merit. He came close to winning The Open Championship in 1999, but lost a three shot lead on the final hole. He played on the PGA Tour in 2000 and 2001.

Steven van de Velde is a Dutch beach volleyball player and convicted rapist. Van de Velde won the Dutch national championships Under-20 in 2011. With partner Michiel van Dorsten he represented the Netherlands at the 2015 European Games. Together with partner Dirk Boehlé, he finished 3rd at the Blooming Beach Aalsmeer of the 2018 FIVB Beach Volleyball World Tour. In 2016, he was accused of raping a minor while travelling to England.

John Vande Velde is an American track cyclist who competed on velodromes around the world, winning three national championships, and he competed at the 1968 Summer Olympics and the 1972 Summer Olympics. He was a 2004 inductee into the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame.
