In the novel, she was Kunoichi sent by Tokugawa Ieyasu to spy on his political enemy Ishida Mitsunari before the Battle of Sekigahara.

She wielded great power within the Toyotomi family along with the Ono brothers, playing a crucial role before and during the Siege of Osaka.
