Vietnam Veedu Sundaram was a popular Tamil playwright, screenwriter and film director. He wrote films such as Gauravam, Vietnam Veedu, Gnana Oli, Satyam, Grihapravesam, Justice Gopinath, Annan Oru Koyil, Naan Yen Pirandhen and Naalai Namadhe. He also directed a few films and is well known for his family themes. His stories have been made into films in languages such as Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Raju Sundaram
Raju Sundaram is an Indian dance choreographer, actor and director, who works primarily in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu films. He appeared as an actor in films such as but not limited to: Jeans (1998), 123 (2002), I Love You Da (2002) and Quick Gun Murugun (2009); and directed one film, Aegan (2008). He is the son of dancer Mugur Sundar, and the elder brother of choreographers Prabhu Deva and Nagendra Prasad.
Rajarethinam Arokiasamy Sundaram
Rajarethinam Arokiasamy Sundaram was born on 10 June 1905 in Megathur of Valampuri of Thanjavur. He was ordained a priest 24 February 1941. He was appointed as first Bishop of Thanjavur on 4 February 1953. He served nearly 33 years as Bishop of Thanjavur. He died on 28 August 1998. Besides his pastoral works, the bishop's multidimensional approach on the promotion of education and socio-cultural economic measures benefited different sections of the society.
