Carlos Miguel Kunkel es un abogado, político argentino e histórico dirigente peronista. Formó parte de la organización Montoneros, y fue diputado nacional desde el año 2005 a 2017 por el Frente para la Victoria - PJ. Fue jefe de la Juventud Peronista en la ciudad de La Plata en los años setenta, organización en la que se encontraban, entre otros, Néstor Kirchner y Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.

Thor Kunkel, a German author, was born in Frankfurt am Main on 2 September 1963. Kunkel claims to have spent his youth associating with drug friends and American soldiers stationed in the then West Germany. In 1981, on a scholarship to the United States, he enrolled in the creative writing programme of the San Francisco Art Institute.

Louis Martens Kunkel is an American geneticist and member of the National Academy of Sciences (NAS). His father and grandfather were also scientists and NAS members. Kunkel came from a Lutheran background and attended Lutheran schools in youth. He later graduated from Gettysburg College in 1971. He obtained his PhD from Johns Hopkins University. He is noted for discovering dystrophin, which is relevant to muscular dystrophy research.
