Robert Pierrepont, 1st Earl of Kingston-upon-Hull was an English nobleman who joined the Royalist side in the English Civil War after some delay and became lieutenant-general of the counties of Lincoln, Rutland, Huntingdon, Cambridge and Norfolk. He was killed in a friendly fire incident after being captured by Parliamentary forces.

Elizabeth Pierrepont, Duchess of Kingston, sometimes called Countess of Bristol, was an English courtier and courtesan, known by her contemporaries for her adventurous life style. She was the daughter of Colonel Thomas Chudleigh, and was appointed maid of honour to Augusta, Princess of Wales, in 1743, probably through the good offices of her friend William Pulteney, 1st Earl of Bath.

Era el único hijo de William Pierrepont, conde de Kingston (1692-1713) y su esposa, Rachel Bayntun (1695-1722). Sucedió a su abuelo Evelyn Pierrepont en 1726, en títulos y como heredero de Thoresby Hall en Nottinghamshire.
