Mohamed Mohamed el-Amir Awad el-Sayed Atta fue un Ingeniero egipcio y uno de los líderes principales de los atentados del 11 de septiembre. Su papel en los atentados fue ser el piloto del vuelo 11 de American Airlines, que impactó en la Torre Norte del World Trade Center como parte de los atentados a las 8:46 a.m. Con 33 años de edad al momento de los atentados, fue el de mayor edad en participar en los ataques.

Gregory Atta born Michael Atta was a bishop of the Melkite Greek Catholic Archeparchy of Homs, church historian and collector of antique manuscripts. He visited Europe in 1860–61 and campaigned among others for alms for the Oriental Christians in Bavaria. later served as a father of the First Vatican Council in Rome.

Mina Atta is an Egyptian singer and radio announcer. He participated in the tenth season of Star Academy Arab World, finishing in 4th place.

Major Hashem al-Atta was a Sudanese political and military figure. Whilst he initially served in the National Revolutionary Command Council under Nimeiry, he is best known for his involvement in the 1971 coup d'état attempt, in which he, and other pro-communist members of the Sudanese Armed Forces attempted to overthrow Nimeiry and seize power. Initially successful, after several days the Revolutionary Government collapsed when Nimeiry was freed by loyalist military units. Following the failed coup attempt Atta and the other ringleaders were executed.
