Woizero Yidnekachew Shifa, son of ንጉስ ጦና Wolete Giyorgis and Dejazmatch Ali Gonshur, who was oromo from Gondar. and a former trader from Gondar. Yeshimebet was the wife of Ras Makonnen and mother of Emperor Haile Selassie of Ethiopia. She died during the Emperor's infancy. Her mother and her sister Woizero Mammit helped care for her young son as he grew to adulthood. She had eight miscarriages before giving birth to Haile Selassie.

Abu'l-Fawaris Ahmad ibn Ali ibn al-Ikhshid was the last monarch of the autonomous Ikhshidid dynasty, which ruled Egypt, Syria and the Hejaz, from 968 to 969. However, he was a child and did not exercise actual rule, being instead under the tutelage first of the vizier Ja'far ibn al-Furat and then of his uncle al-Hasan ibn Ubayd Allah ibn Tughj. His reign ended with the conquest of Egypt by the Fatimids in summer 969.

Farida Mohammad Ali is an Iraqi singer. She performs regularly in the Iraqi Maqam Ensemble. The ensemble was established in 1989 in Baghdad by Mohammad H.Gomar to continue of the 1973 ensemble organized by the prominent lute professor Munir Bashir. She had taught maqam singing at the Baghdad Conservatory. She left Iraq in 1997. She is married to Mohammad Gomar the Djozza instrument player and lives in the Netherlands.
