As of January 2015, the Gerontology Research Group (GRG) had validated the longevity claims of 59 German supercentenarians, being 49 residents and 10 emigrants. There are currently at least 6 Germans known to be alive over age 110. The oldest of them is Josefine Ollmann, born 11 November 1908, aged 112 years, 96 days and living in Schleswig-Holstein. Augusta Holtz, an emigrant to the United States, remains the oldest German citizen whose age has been validated: she lived 115 years and 79 days, from 1871 to 1986.

Aaron Traywick was an American life extension activist in the transhumanism and biohacking communities and former founding CEO of Ascendance Biomedical. He sought to develop gene therapies to make inexpensive treatments available for incurable conditions such as AIDS and the herpes simplex virus. His lack of any medical training and his unconventional methods—such as broadcasting an associate injecting himself with an “untested experimental gene therapy”, then later doing the same to himself in an onstage public demonstration—drew widespread criticism.

August Edmun "Augie" Garrido Jr. was an American professional baseball player and coach in NCAA Division I college baseball, best known for his stints with the Cal State Fullerton Titans and Texas Longhorns. Garrido compiled a collegiate record of 1,975–951–9, retiring in 2016 as the coach with the most wins in college baseball history. His win total was surpassed by Mike Martin of the Florida State Seminoles in 2018. He took his programs to 15 College World Series, winning five of them: three with Cal State Fullerton and two with Texas.
