Mary Elizabeth "Mimi" Smith was a maternal aunt and the parental guardian of the English musician John Lennon. Mimi Stanley was born in Toxteth, Liverpool, England, the oldest of five daughters. She became a resident trainee nurse at the Woolton Convalescent Hospital and later worked as a private secretary. On 15 September 1939 she married George Toogood Smith who ran his family's dairy farm and a shop in Woolton, a suburb of Liverpool.

Frédéric Dumas was a French writer. He was part of a team of three, with Jacques-Yves Cousteau and Philippe Tailliez, who had a passion for diving, and developed the diving regulator with the aid of the engineer Émile Gagnan. Dumas participated with Cousteau in the discovery of deep sea reliefs and flora and fauna of deep sea life and in bringing it to the attention of the general public.

Francesc de Borja Moll Casanovas fue un lingüista, profesor, historiador y filólogo español. Autor de muchas obras en catalán y las variantes habladas de las Islas Baleares, coordinó junto a Antoni Maria Alcover el monumental Diccionario catalán-valenciano-balear (DCVB). En 1934 fundó la Editorial Moll, a día de hoy la editorial más antigua de las Islas Baleares, desde donde publicó un gran número de obras de la lengua y cultura catalanas.
