Rambhai Barni de Siam, antes Su Alteza Serenísima la princesa Rambhai Barni Svastivatana, fue la esposa y reina consorte del rey Prajadhipok de Siam.

Karl Rahner S.J. fue un teólogo católico alemán considerado como uno de los más importantes del siglo XX. Su teología influyó al Segundo Concilio Vaticano. Su obra Fundamentos de la fe cristiana, escrita hacia el final de su vida, es su trabajo más desarrollado y sistemático, la mayor parte del cual fue publicado en forma de ensayos teológicos. Rahner había trabajado junto a Yves Congar, Henri de Lubac y Marie-Dominique Chenu, teólogos asociados a una escuela de pensamiento emergente denominada Nouvelle Théologie, los elementos de que se había criticado en la encíclica Humani Generis del papa Pío XII.

Stanisław Marcin Ulam fue un matemático polaco que participó en el proyecto Manhattan y propuso el diseño Teller–Ulam de las armas termonucleares. También propuso la idea de propulsión nuclear de pulso y desarrolló un número de herramientas matemáticas en la teoría de números, teoría de conjuntos, teoría ergódica y topología algebraica. Sobre todo es conocido por ser coautor del método de Montecarlo.

Hristo Prodanov was a Bulgarian mountaineer. He was the first Bulgarian to climb Mount Everest, doing it via the most difficult way—the West Ridge—as well as alone and without oxygen. He was the first person to climb Everest in April, when the weather conditions are generally too bad for an expedition, and also the thirteenth person to climb Everest without the use of bottled oxygen. Climbing the summit at 18:15 local time he had to descend overnight and got lost shortly after that. On the next afternoon he reported he has lost his gloves and soon he won't be able to hold the radio button long enough to talk. His body was never found.

Sir Basil Henry Blackwell was born in Oxford, England. He was the son of Benjamin Henry Blackwell (1849–1924), founder of Blackwell's bookshop in Oxford, which went on to become the Blackwell family's publishing and bookshop empire, located on Broad Street in central Oxford. The publishing arm is now part of Wiley-Blackwell.
