Alfredo de Zayas y Alfonso jurista cubano, orador, poeta y político. Fue fiscal, juez, alcalde de La Habana, senador en 1905, Presidente del Senado en 1906, vicepresidente de 1908 a 1913 y cuarto Presidente de la República desde el 20 de mayo de 1921 al 20 de mayo de 1925.

Samuel Fischer, later Samuel von Fischer, was a Hungarian-born German publisher, the founder of S. Fischer Verlag. Fischer was born in Liptau-Sankt-Nikolaus/Liptószentmiklós, Liptau/Liptó megye, northern Hungary. He was trained as a bookseller in Vienna and moved to Berlin shortly afterwards. In Berlin, he joined the bookseller and publisher Hugo Steinitz. Fischer took on increasing responsibility for new publishing endeavours and managed to launch his own firm in 1886, the S. Fischer, Verlag.

Roy Kenneth Turk was an American songwriter and lyricist, he frequently collaborated with composer Fred E. Ahlert – their popular 1929 song "Mean to Me" has become a jazz standard. He worked with many other composers, including for film lyrics. Turk was elected to the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.

Kurt von Kleefeld was a German lawyer, executive director of the House, President of the Chamber and executive director of the princely mines and industrial activities of the princely Hohenlohe family. He was the last person in Germany to be ennobled. On the request of his employer, Prince Christian Kraft zu Hohenlohe-Öhringen, he was raised to the hereditary nobility of the Principality of Lippe by Leopold IV, Prince of Lippe "in recognition of his loyal service" on 12 November 1918, the same day as the Sovereign Prince's abdication and the abolition of monarchy.
