Entre sus profesores tuvo a Carl Czerny y entre sus alumnos a Anna Yésipova, quien luego fue su esposa, o a Mieczysław Horszowski y a Artur Schnabel, quienes fueron posteriormente maestros de Murray Perahia y Maria Curcio, respectivamente, entre muchos otros.
