Martin Beck was a vaudeville theatre owner and manager, and theatrical booking agent, who founded the Orpheum Circuit, and built the Palace and Martin Beck Theatres in New York City's Broadway Theatre District. He was a booking agent for, and became a close personal friend of the prominent magician, Harry Houdini.

Samuel Fischer, later Samuel von Fischer, was a Hungarian-born German publisher, the founder of S. Fischer Verlag. Fischer was born in Liptau-Sankt-Nikolaus/Liptószentmiklós, Liptau/Liptó megye, northern Hungary. He was trained as a bookseller in Vienna and moved to Berlin shortly afterwards. In Berlin, he joined the bookseller and publisher Hugo Steinitz. Fischer took on increasing responsibility for new publishing endeavours and managed to launch his own firm in 1886, the S. Fischer, Verlag.

Martin Hattala was a Slovak pedagogue, Roman Catholic theologian and linguist. He is best known for his reform of the Štúr's Slovak language, so-called Hodža-Hattala reform, in which he introduced the etymological principle to the Slovak language.

PhDr.h.c. Pavol Országh Hviezdoslav fue un poeta eslovaco, dramaturgo, escritor, traductor, abogado, fue también miembro de la Asamblea Nacional Revolucionaria ČSR (1918) y presidente honorario de Matica slovenská 1919). Hviezdoslav es uno de los líderes de la literatura eslovaca y de la cultura eslovaca al fin del siglo XIX y el comienzo del siglo XX y parece a apariciones más importantes de toda la literatura eslovaca. Károly Vass (1896–1953) was a Hungarian cinematographer. He worked in Germany during the silent era where he was often credited as Karl Vass.

György Lahner was a honvéd general in the Hungarian Army. He was executed for his part in the Hungarian Revolution of 1848, and is considered one of the 13 Martyrs of Arad.
