Yu Min was a prominent Chinese nuclear physicist, an academic of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), a lead nuclear weapon designer in the Ninth Academy, and a recipient of Two Bombs, One Satellite Achievement Medal. Though he personally refused to accept the title, he is honored as “the father of Chinese Hydrogen Bomb”.

Huang Haibo is a Chinese actor of Manchu descent, best known in film for playing Yu Xiaobei in The Dream of A Young Soldier (2001), and has received critical acclaim for his television work, particularly as Jiang Dongzhi in Chasing, Yu Wei in A Beautiful Daughter-in-law Era, Li Da Benshi in Forever Designation and Guo Ran in Let's get married!.

Li Ruihuan is a retired Chinese politician. Li was a member of the Politburo Standing Committee, the country's top decision making body, between 1989 and 2002. Li served as Chairman of the 9th National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) from 1993 to 2003; before that, he was the party chief of Tianjin.

Luo Lan was a Taiwanese writer and radio personality. Born Chin Pei-fen (靳佩芬) in Ninghe, Heibei, she moved to Taiwan from Tianjin in 1948. Luo was first published in 1963 and became well-known first in Taiwan, before finding the same success in China after the opening of the Three Links. Best known for an essay collection, Luo Lan Xiao Yu, she won a Golden Bell silver class special award in 1994. Luo died of cardiopulmonary failure in Taipei on 29 August 2015. She received two governmental citations during the course of her career. The first was issued by the Ministry of Education in 1979, and the second was posthumously awarded by the Ministry of Culture in 2015.

Tian Yu, courtesy name Guorang, was a military general of the state of Cao Wei during the Three Kingdoms period of China.
