Gérard Pettipas, C.Ss.R. is a Canadian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church. He is a member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (Redemptorists). He currently serves as archbishop of the Archdiocese of Grouard-McLennan.
Oswald Avery
Oswald Theodore Avery,. Médico e investigador canadiense, estudió en la Universidad de Columbia y casi todo su trabajo lo realizó en el hospital del Instituto Rockefeller en Nueva York, Estados Unidos. Fue uno de los primeros biólogos moleculares y un pionero en el campo de la inmunoquímica, aunque es mejor conocido por su descubrimiento en 1944, junto con su colaborador Maclyn McCarty, de que el ADN es el material del que los genes y los cromosomas están formados y de cómo estos definen la sexualidad del ser humano. William Hall
William Nelson Edward Hall was the first Black person, first Nova Scotian, and third Canadian to receive the Victoria Cross. He received the medal for his actions in the 1857 Siege of Lucknow during the Indian Rebellion. Hall and an officer from his ship continued to load and fire a 24-pounder gun at the walls after the rest of the party had been killed or injured by the defenders.
