Byron Leslie Dorgan is an American author, businessman, and former United States Senator and United States Congressman from North Dakota and currently serves as a senior policy advisor for the Washington, DC law firm Arent Fox LLP. He served 12 years in the U.S. House and 18 years in the Senate. He was a member of the Senate Democratic leadership for 16 years, first as Assistant Democratic Floor Leader and then as Chairman of the Democratic Policy Committee and Chairman of the Committee on Indian Affairs. In 2010, Dorgan announced that he would not seek re-election in the 2010 North Dakota senate election.

Gaylord Kent Conrad is a former American politician who was a United States Senator from North Dakota. He is a member of the North Dakota Democratic-NPL Party, the North Dakota affiliate of the Democratic Party. First elected to the Senate in 1986, he served as chairman or Ranking Member of the Senate Budget Committee for 12 years.

Gary L. Cederstrom is a retired Major League Baseball umpire who worked in the American League from 1989 to 1999 and throughout both major leagues from 2000 to 2019. He wore number 38 throughout his career and was promoted to crew chief for the 2008 season.

On May 16, 2011, Berg announced his run for the United States Senate seat being vacated by Democratic incumbent Kent Conrad but lost narrowly to Heidi Heitkamp on November 6, 2012.
